Night Day Installation
Night Day installation created with Adam Smith plus students from dance and music
Dickinson Hall, Bennington College

This is the only photo (i know of) documenting this installation created in collaboration with Adam Smith.
Everything in the installation was suspended from dozens of handmade pulleys that supported
dancers on swings counterbalanced by sandbags as well as supporting a giant "womb"
in which a dancer was featured. Slide projectors created the ambience
and were supported by more than 20 musicians and singers.

When i could not find a suitable location for presentation of this piece, i cleared out my room and created my own gallery.

Counter Weight Sculpture
Counter Weight Sculpture created with Adam Smith
VAPA, Bennington College

Also the only surviving image of this precariously balanced sculpture
attached to the side of VAPA.
These large tree limbs were counterbalanced by
a large weight on the opposite side of the building connected via a single rope and pulley system.
Using what we had at hand, polypropylene plastic rope was used and turned out to be way too elastic.
Just moments after presenting the piece (which included dancers underneath the branches)
the entire thing slumped to the ground.

River Cleanup Diagrams
a device to clean the river
North Bennington, Vermont

One summer, i was the artist in residence for a project to clean up the river and pond in town.
I designed and build a platform that was installed in the center of the pond and was used as a homebase
for the effort. Using found materials, the derrick was included a crane for lifting heavy items and a winch for pulling in boats.
These acetone transfer prints were created as part of the project and installed in a local community space.

Rever Fest in WIlliamstown,
Riverfest created with Adam Smith
Williamstown, MA

Another collaboration with Adam. This time, we lived on the far side
of a river along which other artists were also installing works.
Using found materials, natural processes and human power
we created a series of counterbalanced sculptures.
